History

Moonkit was born to Blossomfire and Brokenwhisker, along with his brother Swiftkit, in Duskclan. As an apprentice, Moonpaw showed a desire to become the best warrior he could be, and hoped one day he could be deputy, maybe even leader. He was optimistic and got along well with his fellow clanmates. Him and Swiftpaw were very competitive, everything could be turned into a challenge. Who could climb the highest tree? Who could catch the most birds? Who could jump the farthest? The two athletic cats had the closest relationship the clan had ever seen.
Moonrunner was given his warrior name for both his speed, and to represent his connection with his brother. Although the two brothers were now busy with warrior duties, they still made time to compete athletically, usually during the night. While Swiftleg had no interest in becoming deputy, Moonrunner still had it as his goal.
Moonrunner noticed a she-cat named Petalstorm seemed to admire him from afar a lot, and often asked him to go on border patrols with her. At first he thought this was odd, but brushed it off and assumed she wanted to become as athletic as him. Eventually Petalstorm admited her feelings to him, and asked to be his mate. Moonrunner admited he wasn't sure of his feelings towards her, but accepted. Several moons later, Petalstorm went to the medicine cat to diagnose her sudden ailments, where she was discovered to be pregnant.
Three moons later, Petalstorm gave birth to Mudkit, Robinkit, and Sheepkit. All the kits absolutely adored Moonrunner, everytime he was in camp it looked like he had a mini kitten army. As apprentices, the Mudpaw appeared to have inherited his mother's strength, Robinpaw inherited his father's speed, while Sheeppaw had neither. Due to Sheeppaw's weakness, Petalstorm and Moonrunner were very protective of her.
One painful season, Sheeppaw fell ill and was under quarantine in the medicine cat den, no other cats were allowed in. One night, the medicine cat left the den, and Moonrunner snuck in to check in on Sheeppaw. Her breathing was shallow. Moonrunner laid his head on her body to keep check on her breathing. He almost drifted off into sleep when he noticed her breathing had stopped. He immediately got up and panicked, trying to get her to breath again, he pushed on her body. When he got no response he ran out of the den and screamed for the medicine cat, causing all of the clan to wake up.
After a while of screaming, the medicine cat returned with a bundle of herbs and made their way into the den. A couple of seconds later, the medicine cat returned and announced that Sheeppaw was dead. Moonrunner shouted at them, telling them that they need to go back in there and do something. He was informed that there was nothing that they could do. Moonrunner stood there, shaking, tears uncontrollably streaming down his face. He then burst out profanities, screaming at the medicine cat about how they shouldn't have left a kit in her condition alone. The two cats argued before the leader interrupted them, telling Moonrunner how he should not be speaking to a medicine cat the way he is, to which he shouted at the leader about taking the side of a good-for-nothing medicine cat.

He continued to shout at the leader until Mudpaw yelled at him. Moonrunner stood, shocked, when other cats began to speak up too against him. Moonrunner's grief was replaced with seathing anger as he cursed out the whole clan, accusing them of being traitors and for having always wished that Sheeppaw would not succeed. The leader had had enough of this outburst and told the clan to silence, Moonrunner was the only one to disobey. The leader declared that Moonrunner was hereby banished and no longer welcome in Duskclan. Moonrunner swears revenge on Duskclan, especially on their medicine cat, before bolting off.

In his blind chase with no prey, Moonrunner crashed into a group who call themselves the Silent Walkers, they asked what he was running from. After catching his breath, he told them of the events that had occurred, retelling the tale like snake spitting out poison. The group told them of their goal, and asked if he wanted to join them; to which he happily accepted.
