HISTORY

PRE-HISTORY:
Ophelia the Graceful was born as a single fawn to her parents: Alexander the Mighty and Amarilla of the Wind's Whisper. As a fawn it was instilled into her that order and elegance were of the utmost importance, she was taught to eat with manners, tuck in her legs when she laid down, and was given regular balance training; it was thought to be a deadly embarrassment to be caught falling on the ground. While her parents never forced her to become friends with any other deer, she was often encouraged to spend her time with deer who had similar manners and who were kin of her friend's parents.

As a yearling she chose to train under the eyes of the Runners, not being able to see herself as a beast-fighting Captain, and the Healers were not looking for anyone to train at the time. Her training was uneventful, other than the typical gossip and small drama Ophelia and her friends would take part in. Once she had completed her training and was deemed a Runner for the herd, her parents approached her to suggest that her next objective in life should be to find a mate and consider raising her own kin. She admitted that she didn't see anyone in a romantic light, so her parents suggested Kingsley, someone she knew of but had never had a meaningful conversation with. Amarilla said that bringing a fawn or a colt to the world would be a great way to give back to the herd, but Alexander reminded her that she should only raise a kid with someone who was worthy of that honor.

So Ophelia approached Kingsley and they began the process of courtship. Kingsley seemed fine, he didn't sway Ophelia's heart, but he was quiet and respectful to Ophelia's family. They officiated as mates, she being content in the arrangement, and Kinglsey overjoyed to be mates with a proper doe. He changed his name to show his dedication to Ophelia, renaming himself "Kingsley of the Lightning's Fleet" to align with the naming style of her family.

Soon after officially becoming mates, Kingsley's true self became apparent. He was arrogant and quick to throw the fact that he had a mate so soon in his friend's faces to show his superiority. He was also dismissive of Ophelia's words and opinions, sometimes even stopping her from talking completely if she was taking attention away from him. She expressed feelings of sadness to her parents, who suggested that she may want to consider leaving him if he was going to make her feel unimportant. So she heeded their words and told Kingsley that she would no longer be his mate, and while he didn't say anything she could feel him burning through her with his gaze.

Ophelia was quiet following the days after she left Kingsley, expecting him to say something or do something to get his revenge, and being in fear of it. She avoided her usual friends to be alone, catching the attention of a Captain named Dominic. He was kind and showed interest in her well being, something Kingsley had lacked. He made her feel loved and she quickly felt her heart pull towards him. He wasn't quite as prim and proper and she and her friends were, but he wasn't brutish either. Their courting wasn't as rigid as her and Kingsley's was, sometimes the time they would spend together would be spur of the moment, and it was the best time of her life.

When Ophelia and Dominic became mates, he chose to keep his name, being proud of the family that raised him. This time Ophelia knew that Dominic was the right one to start a family with, and after some time trying, she finally was able to announce her pregnancy to the family. She lived in bliss, almost every night she and Dominic would discuss possible names for their coming kid.

Then life hit her like a whirlwind. Dominic died while fighting off a mountain lion, the stress caused her to go into labor, giving birth to an unmoving fawn, she grieved, she was named Lady of the herd. Every moment she kept her composure, refusing to shed a tear even as her world burned around her.
