Everyone is fond of owls.In this piece I do battle with my sworn nemeses, Color and Value... and get beaten horribly >_>
My first speedpaint. I must say, it's really fun. This definitely won't be my last.

D'awwww. I have the strange urge to snuggle this owl. :3 Very cute. Don't most owls have little feathery "ears" on their heads, though? or more square-ish heads? I dunno, I don't claim to be the expert on owls.
I leave that to the King of the Beavers. XD

The canvas doesn't bleed! It's KAWAIIDESU anime pictures obviously traced over in Paint that make eyes bleed! >____< Always remember that.

I've always had problems with value. It was Mr. Schmid's first comment every time I asked him for help with a drawing- make it darker.

Are you worried about making it TOO dark when you draw, or just having trouble figuring out where to put the values...? It definitely a tricky thing to work on. >____< Gah. Everybody struggles with it at different points.
There are also owls in my gravy. And probably in chicken stuffing. D: NOOO! I ATE OWLS...!

I'm not afraid of making it too dark; it seems that I always naturally make things really light. I have to just learn that things are darker than they seem.
