Pen/paper 18x24My wife wanted a friendly looking dragon, so I drew this at work. (Yes, I had that much free time)
Took about 25 hours to complete.
Drew every freaking scale. NEVER AGAIN.

And yes the scales were a serious pain, went over them about 6-8 times per. My hands hated me for this.

No problem ^_^. I think I've seen a butterfly dragon before on 's dragon gallery though with far less scalage (imitating a Red Admiral I think). You mentioned your wife wanted a happier dragon? Does that mean you've got other dragon sketches?

Yes, I have one other that I had scanned. Tiamat. Took about 20 hrs. Far less scales too.
