I couldn't get this idea out of my head! More fan art for Tu, the name of the planet I gave to the World of the Avatar! (Tu translates to Earth by the way.)

Okay, about each of these weapons...

Each of these weapons are meant to support a bender's powers, weaknesses and personality. They are equipment designed specifically by the benders for the benders. Not sure why they would need them, but I just thought it would be cool to give each kind of bender a specific weapon that suits his or her needs.

The Ice Sword is a single hollowed stick filled with just about any kind of water you can think of, maybe even nonpottable water. It can be open on either side and functions very much like Katara's pouch, except it can also double as a handle for any kind of water weapon a bender could make with the stick. Hey! Ice can be very sharp! Of course, it can also be used like a whip or a spear, especially if the waterbender purposefully freezes the water inside and outside the handle for throwing like a javelin. Because of a waterbender's focus on the alternating between the positive and negative jing, this weapon is designed for counter attacks and turning enemies' blows to the wielded's advantage.

Earth Hammer
This one is lighter than your mom. That was a mama joke. This literally heavy duty hammer functions like Thor's Mjolnir. An Earthbender can throw this hammer and really knock something down. In contrast to imagining airbenders running on rooftops and flying sometimes literally with capes on their backs, I can only imagine an earthbender in a full suit of knight's armor, potentially made of iron, wielding this bad boy. For an Earthbender, bigger is definitely better! Contrast that with the weapon I designed for airbenders, which is quite small and very light like a feather.

Fire Rifle
Simply called fire rifle, this firearm is powered entirely by firebending alone, so no gun powder, battery packs or light bulbs are needed for this ranged weapon. All you really need are the bullets themselves; no ignition hammers, percussion caps, or other firing mechanisms or even gunpowder are needed for this rifle; all you need is your firebending to launch the projectile. Even the projectile is optional for this gun, for it's also an energy gun like in sci-fi movies and television, again powered by firebending. The funny thing is, though, despite Legend of Korra or even The Last Airbender displaying steampunk technologies, as well as featuring pirates in one episode, they never had firearms. One problem I can see for a firebender is that to effectively firebend, you have to have adrenaline rush of some kind and literally punch in the air, which can be troublesome if you want to be accurate. This gun is designed primarily for accuracy and precision so that a firebender can trap fire, lightning, and combustion into the rifle and channel it through the rifle for powerful blasts that can be devastating on impact. The ammunition clip is to hold the fire or energy into place. It's a rifle with a scope on it for sniping because I figured firebenders only need sniper rifles, not handguns or automatics.

Air Stun Dart
That's all it is: a stun dart! No bow or sling is ever needed to throw this peacemaker. All it needs is a sedative to cause the target to fall asleep for it to work. Then, all that the airbender has to do is to throw it using airbending to guide this projectile to its designated target. This can be used to neutralize war machines too by finding weak spots to disable them. It's a stun dart so the airbender doesn't even need to harm his foe. He can just sedate the target and flee. By the way, the find are made of wood or paper and not bird feathers, and they come in cheap! This weapon is best used with stealth, which I imagine airbenders would be really got at!
