I experimented a little bit with photoshopping every now and then, just for kicks, but this one turned out kind of funny.Trouble running, Sonic?
Just had to give him a navel for some reason.

I watched The Flash by CW and much of that kept me watching the show as a Sonic fan. A prime example is how Barry Allen had to eat a whole lot more than an average (normal) human being in order to maintain his speed. If the same applies to Sonic, perhaps there is some good for him to have a fat belly which becomes his motor engine.

Apparently, according to what I noticed of Chemical Plant Zone, that harmony of cute bellies and aquatic environment doesn't work too well with Sonic the Hedgehog as it does with many Donkey Kong characters.
For example: consider that one part where Sonic has to jump on those moving staircases with the purple water suddenly rising. Being fat would make that a bit more difficult.
