Description a photograph of a piece of chocolate plus one of a diner plus boredom equals another experimental piece.

more layer experiements to pass the time.

sort of a minimalistic approach with this one though; simple shapes, with complex concepts.

Cool idea! Where have you learned the blending techniques that seem to be the new trend?
I'm looking for some instruction/advice.

Kim

P.S. Your chocolate is a really weird shape

to be honest i have taught myself everything i know to do with image editing etc.

i just do what i think will look best, and play with filters etc. till i get what i have in my head.

most people who know me think i have too much imagination!! (they reckon i have a chemical imbalance in my head!!)

what do you use for your fractals, i like a lot of them, especially Gleaming Globe; i'd like to use that in a creation if thats ok?

P.S. the chocolate is bitten in half, and cherry is leaking from it!

You're free to use Gleaming Globe. It would be great if you could link to my gallery in the description of the piece use it in.
I look forward to seeing what you do with it!

Almost all fractals are done with the free (absolutely free!!) software Apophysis 2.0.
Download it here: [link]

Tutorials abound and so do many flames, even free fractals!

I should define terms:

The finished images created, like the Gleaming Globe, are called fractals because they were made by the fractal process.

The Fractal process: repeating of a geometric pattern at ever smaller scales to produce irregular shapes.

The "raw" material, like a lump of clay, is called a "flame."
Then, like potters we adjust the flame by pushing, pulling, and adjusting (the corners of triangles in this case.)
When we have a finished work, we then call it a "fractal."

I hope I haven't offended you. Please use Gleaming Globe and let me know if Apophysis works for you!

Glad you found my explanation of fractals helpful! Also, I appreciate that you'll link to my gallery when you post your piece using my Gleaming Globe ! In fact, I don't want to miss seeing what you do with it. Could you send me a note when you've got your finished piece?

Looking forward to what you'll create!

Kim

P.S. Did you take a look at the free Apophysis software?
