Description
I’m standing hereRight in front of you
If only you’d see
If only you knew
When we were young
You were by my side
And I felt as if
I’d never have to hide
As we grew older
We talked even more
About things in life
And what we’re fighting for
But not once did I mention
That as older we grew
Feelings had developed
Feelings for you
So many times
I felt like dying
You made me smile
Without even trying
Through the day
I’d always pretend
That I saw you
As only a friend
Then back at home
When the day is done
I think of you and wish
That I was the one
Are you so blind?
That you don’t see
What everyone else does
What you mean to me
When I look back
I wouldn’t change a thing
Friendship is valued more
Than a short time fling
When you look back
What will you see?
What will you remember?
Will you remember me?

Very good poem! Reminds me of a couple of friends of mine now and in the past.
