Description In Western Texas, USA, around 283 million years ago in the early Permian period, a young adult Diadectes lentus has fallen prey to a fully grown Dimetrodon limbatus, an apex predator. Built low to the ground, with rather short legs, it is not the fastest creature, and usually relies on ambush to secure its prey - which can be made difficult by the great, colorful sail growing from its back - a feature quite difficult NOT to notice.

Fortunately, this one was able to secure the kill, lunging at the unsuspecting Diadectes while it scratched away at the ground below it, trying to dig up roots to feed on. Although the Diadectes still has a bit of life left within it, it has no chance of escape while locked in the Dimetrodon's powerful, toothy jaws. Blood streams from the places on its head and neck that the Dimetrodon's sharp teeth have sank into. Today, the carnivore will sit itself down to a tasteful lunch.

This is my third pre-dinosaur era artpiece, and one I had lots of fun making. I definitely don't think it'll be the last either
