Description
A race of space ants (or possibly sentient Earth ants, the book isn't too keen with details) that lived 65 million years ago. They take over -conquer, if you will- tech from other races and form odd imitations of those aliens in order to use the stolen weapons or ships (which may mean the Nesk are Earth ants, and simply raided any alien crafts that got close to Earth). They are extremely possessive, claiming the Earth and it's creatures as their own.They were eventually forced to leave Earth, but not without causing the K-T extinction event.

These guys remind me of playground bullies. They shake their fists from behind their base and say they own the planet, but then the Animorphs steal a bomb and they run away, even after destroying one of the two remaining Mecora ships. Then they thrown an asteroid at the planet for good measure. Kind of petty when you add it all together.

Love your work (this book!!) I wish they'd make a new Animorph series. I know there's already one, but I want to see a remake that more closely follows the books and look even better!!

These guys remind me of a Marvel universe villain called The Swarm, who was a Neo-Nazi scientist whose body was composed entirely of mutant, superintelligent bees.
Which is, incidentally, the best villain concept ever.

Mostly to wipe out the mercora, a alien species that are peaceful and who's planet was destroyed by a Black Hole.
