Some classic art nude with Theresa during her recent visit to Oz. This is one her faves from the shoot that she asked me to process for her. More of Theresa at the upper tier here:moodscapes.deviantart.com/art/…

Beautiful work! Love the tones and contrast both of the image, and also the soft humanity and water against the rocky landscape.

The dream of his heart.....
I am just a Man, Having done well for himself in many aspects of my life, save for one. Although I have been successful in leading my people to prosperity, giving them my life's work, and building them up to the point where they no longer need my guidance. I have retreated back into the home they have built for me as thanks for what I have done for them. Although I am a man of few needs of this world, I accept it graciously. But once all the ceremony of giving of such a wonderful gift has been lost to the days after. I find myself in this place, this world, alone. Looking out to the sea day after day. I watch the setting of the sun as my daily ritual for I know not what else to do with myself. My battles have been fought, the struggles are over, Save for one. There is a longing within me that builds as each day passes. Although I mostly keep to myself, when I do venture to town for my supplies, I find myself longing for something I cannot find among the people here. So I return each day feeling as though something is still missing in my life.
As I return to my balcony, I look out onto the sea once again, as I hear the call of the birds as they gather on the cliffs nearby. I close my eyes, take in a breath, enjoying the smell of the sea as it crashes on the rocks below. Normally warm this time of year, I do feel a particular chill come across the breeze, as the sun begins to dip into the ocean. I light the brazier near me to give me some heat to fight off the chill of the evening that is fast approaching. As I watch the sun release the sky to the night stars and it's guardian moon, a feeling a peace comes over me. A calm comes over my heart, a feeling that eases my restless heart for the night. I return to my bed chamber and lose myself into the covers as I let the peace of my heart help me drift into the night's slumber. I do not stir the entire night, although content, an image has begun to form in my mind. A soft voice wakes me as the sun's returning light enters my room. I slowly wake from a rest I have not had in years, maybe ever. The image is burned in my mind, but it has not taken shape of anything I can recognize. So I walk the halls of my home, looking at everything within the walls of this palace that one would think a king lived. But I am no king, for this is no kingdom of mine, I was just a servant of the people. I asked for nothing more than the effort of everyone in the town to put in what they could to make this place a wonderful place to live. I helped them work through their differences, and showed them how much everyone needed each other. I even helped arrange relationships to join families together, to work towards a common goal, and unite the people. But once that was done, they learned to do all that on their own. With no need for me, I am not thought of much anymore. My only interactions these days are with those in the market.
Once again I return to my home, my search yielding nothing more than puzzled looks from those whom I tried to describe what I had seen in my mind. But still not finding the words to describe it. I return to my normal routine. After dinner, I return to the balcony, looking over the water. The sun making it's way to the edge of the sky once again. Being a hot day, I welcome the evening breeze, But still notice the chill return. But this time I do not light the brazier, as I decide to tough it out this time. As the moon starts to shine across the water, I watch as it's light dances over the water, and shines through the spray of the ocean crashing it's waves on the rocks below. But something catches my eye, as the moon begins to shine on something that is not the rocks below, but a form that seems to glow from the light of the moon. I blink, the image from my mind returns, the calm from the night before is all but gone now, as my own heart quickens. The excitement of finding what was only hinted to me this morning grabs ahold of my curiosity, and set my mind on fire. My heart begins to pound as if it has reawaken from it's own slumber. I still cannot make out what it is, but my sense of adventure has returned in full force. I make my way through my home searching for a rope, or something I can use to help me climb down to the object. I find the rope, and grab a cloak to help against the cold of the water that I will surely be hit with from the ocean. Tying the rope to a post from my balcony, I check to see if it will hold my weight, before taking the plunge. Repelling down the cliff only a few meters down, I reach the rocks below.
Although the rocks are a bit rough, and footing can be a challenge, I welcome such a challenge. I make my way to where I remember the image being. I look for a rock that I can get a better vantage on the area I must search. It is odd as I feel warmer down here than on my balcony, as if I was following the wind to a source of heat other than my own. I see a glimpse of something smooth, and glowing a bit. The moon's light will only be visible for a short time tonight as the clouds are gather from the ocean. But the moon seem intent on shining on the area I am heading too, as if to point me in that direction. I look towards the rocks that the moon is shining upon, I see the glowing vision, as I let my eyes adjust, that image take more of a shape. The soft curves of the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. My heart starts to ache as I look upon it, my body starts to burn with its own desire to be near this shape. I finally see clearly as to what it is my body it trying to tell me. I approach her with caution as I do not want to slip and possible hurt her or myself. I keep my eyes upon her as I approach waiting for her to see me, if she is even looking. I do my best to get her attention, whistling a tune I heard once before, (Badly I might add). But it seems to do the trick, as she looks over her shoulder, staring at me. A wave crashes on the rocks sending a spray over the two of us, getting my cloak wet, but covering her skin with the sparkles of light reflecting off her skin. She did not react to the spray of water, but her skin does begin to form goosebumps, as she starts to shiver for the cool of the spray. But she does not move, watching me as I approach her slowly. I hold my hand out as if to try and keep her calm. She does not seem to have any fear within her eyes, that I can now see clearly, as the flash of green reflects the moon's light as her skin continue to glow. But I notice the shadows of the cloud are making it hards for the moon to remain in view. So I quicken my pace as I reach her, I keep my eyes locked with hers, as I remove my cloak. I offer it to her, She tries to get on her feet, but it does not look like she has ever really used them before. All I know is that my own heart is about to burst as I grab for her hand to help her up. As I do, I hear a crack of thunder, from the clouds off shore. She jumps into my chest at the sound, I wrap my cloak around us both. Helping her to here my rope is. As we make our way, another crack of thunder sounds, after the lightning fills the sky. I look up to see the moon being hidden by the impending clouds. But I also notice a cave at the base of the cliffs, not far from where I landed from my decent.
We make for the cave, as the rain begins to fall. Having made it more of a priority to get to the cave than observe my guest, I finally look down to see her gripping me, holding on for dear life. I wrap an arm around her, and head into the cave. I feel her heart pounding, and her form shivering from fear. But it is not fear of me, as she starts to loosen her grip a bit as I make my way through the cave. I find the other end of the cave. As we stop at the end of the cave, I look to see where we are. I notice we are not far from my home, but still have to brave the road to my home before we can reach it. Another crack of thunder, but no visible lightning. She jumps, but down not tighten her grip on me. I point to my home, then look into her eyes, to see if she understands. She does not make any protest, but she does wrap the cloak over her head. I smile gently, thinking I don't blame her. The storms around here can get fierce. So I quicken our pace to reach my home. There were a couple of cracks of thunder that sound before we reach my porch, but she held onto me the entire way and kept up with my pace. I open the door to my home. Having only a couple of lights lit in the home, I take it slow as I bring her in with me. I remove the cloak as she is still attached to me, but does start to walk on her own. I take her to my chambers, but lead her to the bathroom. As I start the water to warm her up, she looks around in awe of the room then focuses on the water filling the tub. After letting her soak in the tub, I offer her a towel, she pulls it to her without even getting out of the tub. I smile, and shake my head. I hold my hand out and she takes it. I take her now soaked towel away from her, and empty the tub. Pulling another towel I wrap it around her. Drying off her arms, then giving it to her to finish drying off the rest of her. She was slow to figure out what I was doing, but figured out what I was trying to tell her. Some reason words did not seem to be needed. I gave her my robe, and wrapped her in it after putting her arms into the sleeves. I then led her to one of the guest rooms. I showed her the bed, with all the pillows on it. As I pulled the sheets with the covers for her to get in, she hops into the bed. It took some doing but I was finally able to get her under the covers, and bundled up. She looked to me a little confused but then seemed to calm enough to rest. I run my fingers through her hair, kissing her on her forehead, as I wished her good night. I know not if she understood, but she seemed to be relaxed, and closed her eyes to finally rest.
As difficult as it was to keep myself from taking advantage of the situation, I decided to at least let her rest and then decide what she will do in the morning. I do not know where she came from, but I do know I was lead to her for a reason. I return to my balcony, and untie the rope, pulling it back up and wrapping it up before returning to my own bed chamber. It was not until I hit my own pillow that I had a feeling of contentment. The chamber was warm, the covers even more so. But it was not yet dawn before I was awaken. I felt the thin comb like fingers running though my own hair, as two lips were pressed to my own forehead. As I open my eyes, they focused on a pair of green eyes staring back at me. Looking into my soul, seeing the emptiness in my heart, but the flame that she has lit within, she smiles. Pressing her lips to mine, I feel that flame burn ever hotter, as I lift an arm to her, as she pulls me to her. She holds me in this kiss, one I would not dare break. As she finally releases me from the kiss that would steal anyones heart. She stands letting the robe drop to the floor, as she lifts the covers, I slide a little to give her room to enter. She smiles, as she wraps the covers over us. I feel the heat from her body join my own, the passion in her heart is matching mine. Letting all my doubts fall away, I pull her to me as I return her passionate kiss with one of my own. Giving everything I am into the kiss, she holds me to her, as we share our bodies throughout the night. Building upon the passion of the ages, giving to each other everything. The beauty of her intensifies as the sun enters the room, and the sweat of the night's love glistens on her skin. I feel as though I have found what has been missing. It is not a conquest, it is not something won, it is a partnership. This one who wanted to be there with me. When she has every opportunity to just leave me here alone, she chose to not only stay, but to share her heart the love she had to give with someone she knew nothing about. All she did know was the kindness of his soul, his giving nature, taking only what was offered to him. It was this in which she chose to remain by his side. Not a word spoken, nor one needed.... She wishes to remain with me, as I wish for her to stay.

A very beautiful story David - and your longest yet! It's great to see you develop the mood, plot and characters across a longer span. Some of the perspectives get a bit confusing (can't see how the palace would be visible from the cave) and the change of narrative perspective in the last para is also a bit awkward. But with a bit of editing it's there - thank you for putting so much work into it

true, But then when I write, I do not often take time to proof read on things that just flow out of me. this was just one of those... it has to get out, type of stories. It was kind of related to another story I had written, theme wise, but that had a different outcome and somewhat different premise. So I'll admit I just adapted a bit from that story, although it was not as long. Also the Cave had Two entrances, one side faced the sea, the other side wound through the earth, and exited facing a road leading up to the palace. More of a tunnel than a cave I guess...

It's in the same location as most of the other waterfall shots - in the rainforest - it's just the next tier down. But the rainforest is right on the coast so you're right about that.
