Description
It all started with a day of victory. To celebrate a most praiseworthy event: The defeat of Dr. Ivo Robotnik. After suffering through several battles, loses, and personal struggles, the Freedom Fighters had claimed victory over the tyrannical overlord and his legions of robots. With Robotnik gone, all of Knothole Village couldn't have been happier. Especially Sonic, who was most grateful that his friends were still alive and with him until the very end, and would always remain by his side.

But after retiring for the evening to sleep peacefully, the heroic hedgehog suddenly finds himself waking up into a living NIGHTMARE! Mere hours after facing the end of his lifelong enemy, he's shocked to find his robotic forces invading his village home and surrounding him at every corner. And most shocking of all, becomes betrayed by his closest friends as he discovers they've been roboticized into twisted mechanical soldiers. Only so soon after ultimate victory, Sonic stares into the face of utter defeat. And he can't imagine how it got to be like this. After all he had been through, such a hellish turn of events couldn't possibly be real........Could it?
