Clow Reed's Magic Circle--as depicted in the "CardCaptor Sakura" 1998 Anime--as depicted in the "Cardcaptor Sakura 20th Anniversary Illustration Collection (artbook)" (an official Artbook), for the "CardCaptor Sakura" Manga and 1998 Anime.

Clow Reed's Magic Circle, here, is orientated with the Japanese Kanji character for 'North' (北) pointed upwards, to match the Cardinal Compass Rose included. The significance of the Cardinal Points in these Magic Circles goes back to the concept of the "Watchtower" in European Ceremonial magic ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Watchtow… ).
