Description Mythical Creatures Challenge #30: Repo

A lot more interesting information will come later, but for now, take a look at this:

Edit: I'm done.    It was hard figuring out how the colors should be blended and fade into another color.  Also, did I mention that green is my least favorite color, but that and pink are the colors of the Aurora Borealis(Northern Lights).  Funniest part about this "mythical creature" is that it's a normal fox that just simply brushes its tail on the snow as it runs, sending the flakes into the sky and creates the Northern Lights.  It's more of a folklore legend than a mythical creature.   These lights are also known as "Fox Fires" in Finland because of this finnish folklore.

This is breathtaking! The white arctic fox looks very cute and its fur is very rich and beautiful! I love how you used shades of blue for the snow and fox shadows rather than grey-scale! It makes it look realistic and alive as if the fox is walking towards you! The blends on the Aurora Borealis are nicely done as well! The darker/faded mountains on the background give the entire drawing the perfect depth and represent the environment perfectly! Well done!

I'm thankful I looked at snow long enough to know/remember that snow leaves an interesting blue hue for shadows rather than the typical black/gray.  I'm also thankful that, with years of using color pencils, I learned neat techniques to use.  For example, with the aurora I colored the sky, erased the area where the aurora would be, and then add and erase the pinks and greens so that aurora would look glowy.

The fox looks so floofy and cuddly, especially the tail, i kinda just wanna grab it but i cant foresee that going well........Love the way you depicted the aurora, the colors blend into each other so nicely but the shape is still distinct enough that you can make out the sort of trail they make in the sky

That fox tail does look fluffy and as cuddly as the rest of the fox, but I agree that wild foxes probably don't like hugs from random humans.
The aurora was interesting to do; coloring the sky only to erase it with an eraser, then adding the pinks and greens only to erase that again, and then adding pink and green once more.  Though, it really helps with the aurora glow, since erased color pencils still leaves a mark left over from before.

The fox looks fluffy, exactly as the arctic foxes, nice work on that. I also must say you did a great job with those auroras, they are hart to draw/paint but you did a great job!
Nice contrast between the sky and the snow, keep it up

Your critique:
I really like this piece, and especially the northern lights! The shadow under the fox is also very good!
I would, however, make the sky a little darker, to have a little more contrast between the aurora. I would also change the head of the fox a little, right now it looks a little off.
Anyway, a really good piece!

Thanks for the critique.  A darker sky is probably a good idea, but I was worried that blending with my black color pencil after pressing so hard with my darkest blue pencil may drop the quality of the picture or mess with the northern lights.  Also, I see that the fox's head is off, too.
