I found this tutorial helpful, but I have elements 7 and I can't find the smoothing option, does elements 7 have smoothing?

I am almost 100% sure that the smoothing does not exist before version CS.

I seem to be tablet/inking retarded anyway, how you do your strokes that smooth, I've used CS3 before with a mouse and although it does make a significant difference when "smoothing" is used, I can't put down lines accuretly in single strokes, I always do multiple strokes and not even the smoothing feature would help. (Omg run on sentence)
Do you have any further advice for a noob?

I use really long strokes, usually.
Then go back and erase the bits and pieces I don't need.
It helps to have an extreme steady hand, since most of my strokes are pretty controlled in one direction, I don't have to use "a lot of pen strokes" to make one continuous line.

Alright thanks, and your hand just got steadier from practice right? (retarded question)

Yeah, it doesn't take much though. Maybe a few months.
Looking through super old things from years back, my had was not really shaky.

xD; How do you get to the brushes and set the smoothing setting?

moral-extremist In reply to fOrK-o [2008-03-18 02:55:34 +0000 UTC]
you know the top tool bar?? it says like, filter, view, window etc
click on "window" and drop down to "brushes"
you can change the settings there, and there will be the little check boxes for brush options

do you use a tablet? or a mouse for photoshop?
because you can only get the tapered ends if you're working with a tablet//pen to get the pressure sensitivity

Ohh Thanks alot. I'm using a mouse and i've been trying forever to get "tapered ends". If i use a tablet though, how do i get them? btw What tablet do you use?

wacom tablet graphire 2 or 3 series 6 x 8 inches
and it will automatically taper due to the pressure sensitive nature of it.
