Description
NightThe camp did not look the same.
It looked like a masquerade,
Poor clowns with ghostly faces.
The block was cleaned top to bottom.
Here lived MEN not PIGS!
So we were men after all?
The snow continued to fall.
Dusk had fallen.
The gates of the camp opened.
Death was waiting for us.
The first blocks began to march.
Block 57 forward march!
A quick SHOT eliminated the DOG.
If one of us stopped for a second
It snowed on and on.
Night had fallen.
I put one foot in front of the other.
I was a like machine.
Gunshots. Men were collapsing.
Don’t THINK, don’t stop, RUN!
We cannot run to the end of the world.
An even darker Night was waiting.
I can’t go on.
