Julian hadn't liked his step-mother, Marcy, even before she'd turned into a ten-foot-tall HERS woman. She wasn't a gold digger or anything--in fact she was independently wealthy long before meeting Julian's father--nor was she particularly mean. She was just controlling. Everything had to be her way, and she'd nag and push Julian constantly about the smallest little things. If there was even one dirty dish or cup on the counter, Julian would hear about it. If he left his dirty laundry on the floor, she'd be after him. All of this, of course, only got worse after Marcy's transformation.

If the five foot, four inch tall Marcy had been controlling, the HERS version of Marcy was a veritable queen. They'd moved into an enormous house that was designed for HERS women to be able to live comfortable with normal-sized humans. Julian didn't know much about his father's and Marcy's finances, but he knew, both from overhearing several arguments about it and from Marcy's constant reminders, that this new house was hers, purchased with her money and designed to her specifications. There were more rules than ever now, and chief among them was that none of Julian was by no means allowed to invite his friends over to stay. It almost felt like getting the HERS virus was the perfect excuse for Marcy to exert even more control over their lives. She'd always hated when Julian had friends over at their old place. They were too loud, too messy, or just, "too distracting," whatever that was supposed to mean. Now, with complete ownership over practically everything in the home, Marcy had things just the way she liked them.

At first, Julian had respected Marcy's rules the best he could. He knew that it was high time for him to move out, and he was just waiting for the right moment, waiting until he'd saved up enough money to move closer to the city. But when he met Jennifer at work, and she actually seemed interested in him, Julian couldn't help himself. He'd invited her over to the house to go swimming in the pool one afternoon. It would be fine, Julian told himself, over and over again. She's at the spa all day. She won't even know anyone was here.

It was while Julian was setting up towels and chairs on the deck that he heard it. The unmistakable sound of Marcy's steel-reinforced heels crashing down on the floors, followed by a sharp yelp, and Julian rushed inside to find Marcy holding his would-be girlfriend ten feet in the air.

"What the hell is this," Marcy demanded, her voice echoing throughout the cavernous rooms. She was wearing almost nothing at all, a habit that she'd grown more and more fond of since she'd become a HERS woman. Julian's dad had tried to get her to cover up more, but of course Marcy had retorted that it was her house and she would dress--or not dress--however she damn well pleased.

Julian swallowed, but found it very difficult to speak, or even to formulate a response when he was face to face with her likes this, with her sheer size and strength on full display. His eyes darted from Marcy's furious expression to Jennifer's horrified face, dangling several feet above him.

"Marcy, she just stopped by to pick something up, I swear!"

"Really? And she just happens to be wearing a bikini?"

Julian's jaw hung open, unable to think of anything to say.

"What did I tell you about inviting your little friends over here? Hm?"

"You said not to," Julian said, his head hanging low.

Marcy's lips pressed tightly together. "That's right. So, here's what's going to happen. My trip to the spa today was ruined for reasons that I won't get into now. You're going to make it up to me. You can start by setting up my chairs and towels out by the pool. Then you can prepare some food and drink, and when you're all done with that, you can get started on the laundry."

"But, but I can't even move that chair," Julian protested, thinking of the twelve-foot-long chaise lounge that must have weighed over five hundred pounds.

"You know what? Just because of that, I think I'll invite Andrea over, too. I'm sure she would appreciate a nice day in the sun."

Julian suppressed a groan.

Then Marcy bent over and set Jennifer rather roughly on the floor.

"As for you, don't let me find you sneaking around my house again, understood?"

Jennifer, eyes wide with fear, give a hurried nod.

"Excellent," Marcy smiled. "Julian, I suggest you get moving."

Julian caught a withering look from Jennifer as she rushed for the door, and looked on helplessly as his step-mother happily swayed her enormous hips out to the pool.
