"Daddy, I had a bad dream."
You blink your eyes and pull up on your elbows. Your clock glows red in the darknessβit's 3:23.
"Do you want to climb into bed and tell me about it?"
"No, Daddy."
The oddness of the situation wakes you up more fully. You can barely make out your daughter's pale form in the darkness of your room. "Why not, sweetie?"
"Because in my dream, when I told you about the dream, the thing wearing Mommy's skin sat up."
For a moment, you feel paralyzed; you can't take your eyes off of your
daughter. Then the covers behind you begin to shiftβ¦

Years ago I used to be on every day because I had a few people I used to talk to all the time. One I've come to know as a very close friend and we still talk to this day.

Thats good. I used to have the same, but we steadily grew apart over the years. Just about all of the people i talked to back then were people i knew in real life. I never really made any random friends on here. Kinda one of the reasons i'm trying to come back on more.

We had drifted for a while as well, I live in California and he lived in Texas, but moved to some other state and now is in Florida. We both had major things happen in life, but eventually we started talking again and it's really nice. It's funny because we are both engaged. We never had any love interest, more of a brother/sister relationship. I know how it is to lose friends and connections though, I hardly talk to anyone from high school and I'm home most of the time anymore so I don't talk to anyone much outside of my family and a few friends who visit.

Yeah the girl i used to talk to lived in Greece, while i reside in australia haha. No chance of meeting there. Yeah she used to listen to my woes, and i hers. But then life throws several curveballs and that was that. Congrats on the engagement btw, have you set a date?

Yeah, we still have yet to meet in person, but living within the same country is a little more realistic. We're planning on visiting them within the year. Thank you! We don't have a specific date set, but we're planning on doing the legal part first, for us, then when we've saved up and I've finished school we'll have the actual wedding.
