A powerful piece.
The expression and pose tells that this isn't the same Rarity in the show but a broken cynic who turned away from fashion to become an embittered woman. A hermit from her friends and family; she will never again be the fashionista nor will she be the dependable element she once was.

Looking at this as a continuation from your earlier 'Cybernetics is Magic,' I can't help but be enthralled by what you've accomplished here. As far as technique goes, you've excelled on all fronts. The lines are much more clean and crisp, the colors are more full, and the lighting effects really give a great mood to this; the long shadows drawn by a single beam of light across Rarity's face give off a fantastic air of seclusion as she broods over something or other. And your level of detail of her manufactured limbs is superb; drawing out robotic constructs never was my forte, so what you've accomplished is commendable. And that little extra by making this a simple gif brings out the life in this so much that it's incredible.
And the life in this... dear God. As said earlier, I consider this a continuation of a previous post; the tragic story of terrible loss, cold, harsh reality of life in a mortal body decimated and desecrated by some wicked and vile curse, and the rise of rebuilding oneself anew. And here we have what lies beyond; the life of a unicorn mare of elegance, glamor and grace utterly mugged and raped of her elegance, glamor and grace, and what few shreds she has left were all earned back by her tenacity and crushing hard work to regain something that never should have been stolen from her in the first place.
But before me I observe a changed pony. She carries herself in a way to suggest her high-strung and lady-like composure has all but vanished, indicative of how she so apathetically slouches in her lounge chair with a posture that would've made her former self cringe. Her jewelry doesn't appear to be worn with a sense of fashion (though they are fashionable), but to display some kind of feminine strength. And the alterations to her hairstyle, while still maintaining much of her previous pizazz, is much more jagged, has more hard edges and is much less primped and infinitely less preened. It's as if even her once infamous obsession with beauty is hardly more than a cynical veneer she wears in endless spite of the plague that once ravished her perfect body. But the bitter truth is Rarity seems to think that everything she has done now to rebuild herself is an affront to the pony she once was; a Rarity that she can never again be.
And those eyes... so much soul in those eyes. Their spark and their shine that in another time once defined her are now gone. Now they're so focused, and furrowed by what I can't help but imagine is a perpetual, underlying, seething resent; raging with the loathing of a cold and bitter winter against the cruelty of fate. But by the way they quiver also I see sadness; pain; wells of sorrow. Like some small part of her wishes she could just up and cry like she once did, but the rest of her has decided she won't; she's considered enough tears to have been wasted over... this.
And add such a somber soundtrack to the scene... I feel as through sometimes she wishes to just up and scream and tear her whole home apart in a shrieking rage, but every time decides against it because she knows that it would only saddle her with another destroyed mess in her life; it won't bring her limbs back. So she merely lives her life, and when she can, she vents; quietly; peacefully, morosely, sullenly.
It's so sad; so terrible and so heart-wrenching. And yet... so beautiful. For even in spite of everything, I don't see a victimized quadriplegic. Nor do I see one who has opted for the path of the eternally bitter or the anti-social cynic. I don't see a cyborg. I see Rarity. Beautiful, graceful, elegant, generous Rarity.
If I could make one suggestion to Rarity about her rig, it would be to add some diamonds; a pair of three diamond sets, one to go over each metallic flank. Just because she lost who she wasn't doesn't mean she has to be scarred by who she is now.

But in all seriousness, you're welcome. If anything, I should be thanking you for making such a powerful piece and sharing it with the world. Though I'll be honest, I'm not sure if half the stuff I picked up on is part of the soul or emotion you put there. But the picture in combination with the excellent choice of music to pair it with makes it hard for me to think anything else of this marvelous work.

Wow, just wow. I think the main thing about this piece is the fact that here eyes are so squinted. Normally the pony's eye's are as big as dinner plates but here they show so much more intensity! Kudos to you good sir

Random thought: conformal holo-projectors on/in each limb, generating the image of a flesh-and-blood appendage? Most likely awkward as hell in certain company, but useful for minimizing stares from passersby. Or am I missing some vital lesson about rising above visible handicaps?
Anyhow: interesting Lyra-sprawl of a pose; the earrings are rather dope; and that eye-animation certainly amps their intensity...though if I was trying to focus on a schematic that damn tiny, I'd be tearing up too. Killer revisit to an intriguing concept.
