"Are you ready?"
"Yes."
"Than begin."
A gray blue dragon looked at the murky waters below.
You are a Sea Dragon, Orcan. Just, pretend it's the Ponch Ocean. Chill out.
"Rookie, begin!"
A few chuckles sounded behind Orcan. He took in a deep breath before stepping back a bit. He charged forward, shutting his hazel eyes. He dove into the murky waters, weeds tangling themselves in his fins. He opened his eyes, second eyelids shielding the muck. He looked around, fins unfolding. He dove deeper, in search of the totem.
He heard cheering above as he went deeper. It became darker and darker, but the plants didn't stop. Orcan began to fear getting tangled. His stripes glowed faintly, the black markings turning the murk a green. And there it was, the stone totem, egg shaped with markings swirling across it.
He spread his claws out, gripping it. Oh Scales, it burns!
Of course! Artinic Eggs are covered in acids to protect them. I should have guessed they'd make the training realistic...
Using only the tips of his claws he picked up the egg, swimming upwards, not even flinching when the stone brushed his bare scales.
His stripes ceased glowing, returning the water to its natural darkness.
He saw the light of day, tossing the stone totem up, hearing a cheer slowly built up into an all out roar when he surfaced, gasping.
"Aw yeah!"
"Nice one Orcan!"
"Did it hurt?"
Orcan dragged himself up. He was covered in weeds and vines, and would need to be cleaned off soon.
"Rookie Orcan."
He looked to his training leader. He was tall and thin with built up muscle. His scales were ebony and his stripes were a dull blue, eyes a deep copper.
"I'd wish you'd stop calling me that, brother."
Orcan and his brother chuckled.
"It's just older brother payback for when you called me rookie."
Orcan chuckled louder.
"I was telling the truth Tixs. It's my job being the little brother."
"Yeah, yeah Orcan."
Tixs rolled his eyes and became quite serious before his markings started to glow.
"Rookie Orcan, your scores have become quite high up, and for that, you can be a soldier at this moment, and ranking up will be easier for you with your skill level. You deserve this reward, and we, the training group, welcome you."
Orcan's eyes widened. High skill levels?! He had the highest skill levels in his training clutch?! By the Scales he was like his brother..
He shook his head slightly, hearing his training friends cheer. He heard Tubas's above the rest. He did get his name from his loud mouth...
"Do you accept, Orcan?"
Orcan looked Tixs in the eyes.
"I do."
