Everything happened so fast. I remember, waking up this morning. Being, wet from the nights previous rain. My shelter within the city, the back- it was near ruins, practically wearing out each and every day it had to stand out in the suns glaring heat. I remember, the days I woke up before then. Waking up and.. passing the Colosseum. A fight had just ended, bloody bodies were being carried out by the hour. I was thin, close to my time when I spotted the docks- ships coming in with loads of fish and.. I could only think about myself. My Survival.

That's all it ever was, ya know? Survival. It was always on my mind. Not a family- not.. rioting against the rogues that lived beyond the Massilian walls. Just going day to day, and finding what I could. My last breath could've ended there- a Human had caught my nosing around and kicked my frail body to the ground, a spear in hand. Moments away from death- and then I was saved. Perceus was his name. A broad shouldered- beast of a tiger. Tabby, actually. He had been for whatever reason taken out of his pin within the walls and saved my life - just like that.

We ran, and laughed... Had a good time here to there. I started to find purpose in life, started to.. want to wake up and go on my daily search because of the chance of running into him was too great not to miss. Like a cub- I followed him, not knowing too much. He was someone to behold. A being of nobility and... greatness. And like that - I had a purpose. Small kicks to my stomach, and I knew it wasn't the hunger then. Like everything else he had done for me, - we were expecting.

Weeks and weeks went by- and I hadn't caught scent of him once. He was sneaky around me, that never changed. The - thought of his reputation being thrown away for a skanky street rat... unbearable. I hardly saw him after that- and with circumstances.. I started to doubt the beings growing inside me. God.. it all happened so fast. I remember... leaving the city at the first sign of maternal instinct. I didn't know why, or how.. but the city wasn't safe. IN the end- it was never safe. I had a son - and a daughter. One bared almost.. just almost identical looks to Perseus- he was strong looking. And his sister- she was even more tabby than he. Beautiful cubs. But they were never meant to be.

So I left. I nursed them a few days , and when hunger started to hit me... I left. I don't doubt in my mind, that they didn't make it through the night. Probably taken by a fox.. or something horrible. I regret it.. deeply. But - I was young and stupid then. What I'd do for a son... or a daughter.. I remember - coming back and wanting to talk to Perse. He acted like he didn't know me. And for the two years... he still had no clue I was even alive. I remember.. getting p this morning and - I had a feeling. something bad would come along. Something- so absurd... it wouldn't make since until it happened. I thought I'd see Perseus again- or.. I'd get beat by another merchant. But instead- when night struck... the clicking of claws haunted my gate as I tried to go home. For some reason, I couldn't figure out which way was right verses left... And then it happened.

Claws raked my side, a heavy being of the night jumped my back and tore into my flesh. And When I fell- He had his fangs on my throat. And with a single swipe, emptied me from my state of living. From my state of chasing for food- .. everything. I heard faint 'Hellos' and panicked breath as my already closed eyes seemed to float- the gush of scarlet liquid drained my neck with each desperate pulse.

"Hello?? Can anyone hear me? Are you hurt?" A voice shouted form the alley, blind eyes scanning the empty streets.

And then. I felt nothing.

Now, some of you may be familiar with this girl- She's in fact Griffon & Lacerta's Momma. And above is a short lil' .. Her perspective writing before she passed ultimately. Not only is this for a lil band wagon jumping / Karma bitch lmao but, I wanted to explain a bit more on her side of things .. Griffons story before he was found by the Traveling Merchant. The format of things are a lil messed up and kinda fucked but lmao, In her mind I feel , improper grammar and sentence structure would be alright so... lets go with it.

Anyhow. Tea was an NPC of mine, she lived on the outskirts of the city and never really ventured out unless it was for food or new shelter. Perceus was Griffons poppa, and you can find more information on him through Whispering-Spirit 's girl Ophelia. w ow, half siblings?? Wh at. yeah, thats a thing.
