Where: Zoo Dortmund, Germany

The more I think about, the more likely it becomes that this broad-faced fellow is not the male I thought him to be, but actually the female since he (she?) refused to leave the nesting box for too long (and there was in fact a baby in there)

Species: Kinkajou (Rolstaartbeer)

Latin name: Potos Flavus

Originates from South America.

Current status: Least Concern

Did you know:

…They are also called Honey Bear.

…The Kinkajou is the only member of the genus Potus, but they are part of the Procyonidae family so are related to Coatis, Raccoons and the like.

…It’s an arboreal species, with a fully prehensile tail which they use as a “fifth hand”.
