Where: Natura ARTIS Magistra Amsterdam, The Netherlands

When we made plans (you have to make reservations and book a time slot to enter, so yes, you truly have to plan everything) we decided we were going to be there at the earliest time and race to the Small Mammal House.

I had heard that the lights of Gray Mouse Lemur enclosure would still be on for the first 15 minutes or so, and we were curious to find out if they'd be easier to photograph with the lights on. Of course, we'd still have to deal with the reflection of the glass, but figured it'd be okay.

Turned out, the Mouse Lemurs actually didn't want to go outside of their den houses while the lights were This is as best as it got as long as the lights were on. Checking - are the lights out yet? No? Okay, not getting out of here just yet...

Species: Gray Mouse Lemur (Dwergmuismaki)

Latin name: Microcebus Murinus

Originates from Madagascar.

Current status: Least Concern
