We'd gone to this zoo shortly after my older sister returned from her trip to South Africa. There were a bunch of these Helmeted Guineafowl there, and she'd really grown to feel annoyed by them. Over all, they didn't seem to do much than stress and cluck-cluck-clucking
Thought it was pretty funny to get her a picture of her much loved *ahum* stressed-out-chick

Species: Helmeted Guineafowl (Helmparelhoen)

Latin name: Numida meleagris

Originates from Africa, south of the Shahara but has been introduced in South America, Australia and parts of France

Current status: Least Concern

Did you know:

... It’s English name comes from confusing this animal witg a Turkey, where the Dutch name originates from different remarkable features of this animal, as the seeming “helmet” it has, and the semblance of pearls on his feathers

... Due to their small wings they rather run than fly when scared or trying to flee from danger
