I always use Ambient occlusion with 100% accuracy, and 100 min/max samples, and 40% contrast. Also, global illumination at 115% with the other value at 4
For lights, I use a material that is plain white, with a luminescence value of 500%, and just place it on a plane object above the scene
It creates all your shadows for you, and lights up perfectly
