Description
AKA: BluethulhuSince I licenced out the tattoo design I previously made for her

(with her agreement, but then she decided she didn't want a tattoo that *anyone* could get a t-shirt of) she asked for another version.
THIS version is unavailble for licensing or any other use!

Gorgeous! I particularly like how you did the wings and interspersed circles with the tentacles. Kinda like octopus henna ^.^

Heh, the little circles are Hastur's favorite part!
Yeah, on this one I wanted something a little more graceful than the last one. And for some reason I think that makes it a bit creepier. The original being almost "cute".

yeah, definitely has a more sinister feel to it. I like that one tentacle that goes perpendicular to the flow of the rest and starts an almost interlaced knot-like loop.

That's the tentacle you've got to watch out for.

Well, The roommate is a HUGE Lovecraft fan, so we are pretty much all constantly aware of squids, octopi and tentacles. She wanted a new tatto design, and I just wanted to do something a little more swirly and delicate than the previous one. I've actually doodled a bit here and there on ideas and shapes on this several times, and I found a shape combination I liked and went with it.
Or, alternately, I could just say that I took an octopus, slapped wings on him in a proper lovecraftian mood, and made him pretty.
The "interpretive" part of the title comes from Claudia, upon seeing it, getting all happy about the little round elements and how they could be bubble, or suckers, or thought-forms or...or...STUFF.

I had a basic concept of an octopus and a squid in mind.
Lovecraft (H.P.) was an author of creepy stories all involving a specific created world mythos. He wrote mostly in the 1920-1930s. He created, in his stories, Cthulhu, the Elder Gods, the Necronomicon, Arkham, and a lot of other horror/fantasy concepts and ...things...that have passed on into many other works (ie: Batman's Arkham Asylum, the creatures at the end of the Hellboy movie, etc).
