Just to show my process a little... Hehe.Sometimes I'll rough things out a little more concretely than this, but a lot of the time this is as far as it gets. (Which does create some problems sometimes, particularly in larger images).
It all depends; I had very certain ideas in my head for the first 3 or 4 pieces, but the king and the queen ended up a little more abstract here.
