Description Most of what I post here has to do with my webcomic 6-Commando , but I do work on other projects from time to time.  One that I've toyed with for a long time (years, actually - since at least 2007 or so) is a comic aimed at the YA audience, which I filed under the letter "Z."  The current working title is "Lift."  Like everything I do (for some reason) it's an alternate history, though I don't tie down the date or the reasons.  It's set in the United States in a "dieselpunk" world of history and technology roughly analogous to the period between 1930 and 1945.

And this is Captain Riccio, of the Keystone Air Militia, the defenders of the Free City of Philadelphia, known affectionately to the citizens as the Philadelphia Eagles.  It's a volunteer force that combines the duties of a local military and a police force.  Riccio would be the first to tell you that he's not the best pilot in the City, but he's a charismatic and trustworthy leader, and he's been elected Captain-in-Chief for five years running by his fellow militiamen.  He also has a mind for tactics and organization, and with his day job running a machine shop in Kensington, he and his mechanics know how to keep the Militia's planes in peak fighting trim.  He's a strong supporter of Cities' Rights, and opposes the newly-powerful Federal Sky Patrol, which he thinks is at best suspicious, and at worst, a serious threat to his way of life.

He's also an ally of the Knish family, wealthy patrons of the Militia and the City at large, and owners of the vastly successful Knish Condiments Corporation, whose recipe for spicy mustard is like nothing the world has ever known.  But that's a story for another time.

(Yes, I'm serious - it's a dieselpunk story that revolves around condiments.)
