Introduced in the 2006 horror film, The Descent, the crawlers were a race of ancient cavemen who, after living underground for millions of years, had evolved into humanoid monsters. They have pale, yellow skin, large bat-like ears, a bat-like nose, and sharp teeth and claws. Due to living underground for a millennium, they are blind, but they have excellent hearing. They live in huge colonies underground in the Appalachian Mountains in the southern USA. Males are completely bald, while females have messy long hair. They are completely carnivorous, being adapted to hunting and eating the flesh of animals- and unfortunate humans who stumble into their home...
