well...thanks...well....not really. lol

Sorry to burst your bubble, but I can't take credit for the "folds". I used an image graciously donated by Susan over at edward-norton.org. At first I wasn't going to submit this image at all, since there was a slight chance that a copyright issue may arise, but after several discussions with various people (including deviantart), it seemed to be okay.

The suit is textured from an existing picture of Ed Norton (the actor), but has been modified so much, there is very little resemblance at all to the original [link]

What do you think?

PS. Dave, if you pick this one, I can totally redo the suit!! lol!

nah nah 'PhotoChopper'!!!! LOL

the evil that PS does....

well at least ya painted it well. i DO know that painting with PS takes a butload of talent and luck, i have tried it, woks out in some cases, others just suck. its also why i prefer using my hands...total control. the scare of NO UNDO BUTTON!!!! egads! run hide!!! LOL

i also saw your other entries and gallery, ya got some drawing talent, and that is what counts. PS for you is like what ya said, a tool to HELP ya.....but these other guys just cut and paste. i just feel its not fair to those of us who create our art.

seen all the subs lately? a TON of people waited till the last minute to show in. some good stuff too...if its all original. that is one concern...with the talent that some folks have using PS, they may be getting credit for work they didnt really create. this might not just be a 'design contest' it could potentially get someone a name and recognition to do album covers, they band could ask the winner to make a cover... kinda scary if they see a good job by a chopper.

ok, gotta go...talk at ya later.

I have faith in Dave above....

LOL.....I am not too concerned. They way I understood the contest to mean was that Dave was lookin for a some sorta update for Vic. Wether or not that translates into a full blown album cover remains to be seen. In other words, if I were lookin for artwork for my own music, I would want to meet the artist, get to know him, see ALL his stuff, and so forth. Dave's music is his life, and he will do no less.

I am not sorry for using Photoshop, as it brought my pics to life. The original photographers are all cool with it, and hope I win. They get all credit in the world.

Yes, there have been a great deal of last minute entries. Bad news for us! I haven't seen them all, as I have been busy. I don't think I even want too.....hehehee. I guess the 14th will be the busiest day for submissions. ugh.

ttyl,

faith in dave above? LMAO! i guess soon he'll replace the pope. this is a damn good conversation we are having...going deep into what art is about.

you shouldnt be ashamed of using PS...it's NOT all you did, it wasnt the ONLY thing you used...thats my point. you also drew up stuff, i can see using PS like ya did for the bench scene. btw, that backround pic ya used is cool in itself. you combined your talent with PS. my main bash was against the stuff you can clearly see had zero artistic effort put into it. but they CLAIM its all their work, when it took NO real work at all.....

like one i just looked at in the latest submissions. the guy said "Done completely in Photoshop, from initial sketch to final details. Took about 20 hours of work. Hope you like it"
this guy didnt sketch much of it, he DREW/PAINTED over all sorts of shit..all of it. he has eyeballs from a 3d rendering program, the bones and skull he used are chopped, the edges give it away, not to mention they come from images i can find elsewhere in this contest the skull can be found by google...

i mean, anyone can find pics, cutty pasty filter...bam instant art. and even some of those look good, but it just defeats the whole purpose of creation and thinking. i hope that they see through it like ya said. and yeah, they may just be looking for ideals for Vic, but there is that chance, they just say..."you you got skillz boy! wanna make the cover?"
its happened to some of my buddies when it comes to painting cars, even me for designing logos for businesses. this art business thing can spread like wildfire by word of mouth. i've had people see some of my stuff, ask who made it, where i got it, then i tell em i did it....next thing ya know you have zero free time, but extra cash.

my wife just got me a Tablet for PS, the whole valentines day thing.... i am gonna try and draw/airbrush in photoshop....soooooo much better than a mouse, and ive only had it for 3 hours. here is a link if you are interested:

cost about $60 after shipping.

You mean he isn't????

Ya, I guess we have a new art form in this new millenium Thanks to stock photography, it seems this is a new & viable art medium. Some of it can be creative, and does take some time to learn, but you are right in the fact that nothing can beat bio-creativity. Hey, I think I just made up a new word! F'n A!

a whole other advantage to hand drawing/painting! lol. Congrats. I hope it does well for you. I would love to be in that situation.

Nice wife! hehehee. Mine is making peanuts, and while I thank you for the link, we cannot afford anything right now. Too many debts. Not to mention the fact that I would have to convert that to Canadian money! lol!

You will have to let me know how it works for you though. I would imagine it would take a great deal of getting used to.

dont worry, if i can make anything with it, i will post it.

i was shocked to find the tablet as cheap as it was...so they are coming down.

canadia huh? where the hell are ya trapped up there?

i used to play college and small minor league ice hockey, so i traveled that land just a bit. love some of the places up there. Toronto has all the comedy clubs and bars...and out in BC they have the great views and mountains. although the mosquitos are the size of b-52 bombers.

i be trapped on my own accord, eh! I live in the Vancouver area if you must know. Its great here, as you say, and the mosquitoes are not so bad. only in the forested areas of the province. Manitoba is the more famous province for the mosquitoes!

A hockey player! right on! I only played when I was 12, so I cannot say I am one too. love to watch it though!

vancouver is a nice city, but i hate 'Berthuggi' , it just aint right what he did, and how he acts...

we were out in the forested areas on a vacation when i encountered the mosquitos. big kind camping fishing trip thing during the summer, damned beautimus! also did the kayaking stuff near victoria island.

yeah i picked up a stick around age 10, and just flew! played 2 yrs college, then 5 seasons in the minor ranks, had a lot of fun. my mom hated me playing, even when i was getting Paid!!!

i live in Illinois in the US, near St.louis Missouri, but on the Illinois side. NOT East ST.louis, that is saved for all the crime. i live about 30 miles east...small towns, nice quiet stuff...very humid during the summer here, it sucks. the rest of the year is just fine, a little taste of all the seasons.
