This is a little tribute to my favorite character of the Beast Wars/Beast Machines series, Rattrap. Actually, I do plan to print that anhd have it signed by Scott McNeil at Otakuthon 12 next weekend

I selected the Beast Machines version for several reasons:
- The series is darker than Beast Wars, which was not that dark as it seems.
- The 3D animation is better. Some of the graphics in Beast Wars were cheap.
- The maximals are better fleshed out than in Beast Wars, mainly because of their faces which look more human that in Beast Wars.
- The maximals are in a clear disadvantage all throughout the series. Long story short, Beast Machines take place a few moments after the maximals finally leave Earth with Megaton prisoner. However, they crashed on Cybertron, only that they found that the planet is deserted and conquered by another robot race.
- It was the only series that I could follow from beginning to end. You see, in Quebec, Canada, 2 TV channels broadcasted Beast Wars: YTV and FOX. However, these two channels somehow couldn't get the series broadcasted in the right order. I swear, I never saw the episodes between Beast Wars seasons 1 and 2 because the channels couldn't get the order right. Beast Machines, however, on the same channels, was shown from beginning to end in the right order.

Why Rattrap now ? He's the comic relief, he's a rat, not a powerful animal and in Beast Machines, I swear to you, we've got to see his more sensitive side, like the episode where he goes to Megatron for weaponry and basically cries out to the other maximals, who followed him, that they never cared about him, when he hesitate to reconfigure Tankor and when he disobeys Optimus to save Botanica. Those were really well done moments.
