Description Wisp 3: Anger

“Are you just being stubborn

Can’t you say pretty please

Was it in a nutshell carpet

That brought you to your knees

If the right built the anchor but the wrong have set sail

I’m a wale, I’m a well, I’m a wale

-Coppertank Island by Fair to Midland

Odessa’s palace was quiet. Sadly, no one had opted out of killing their opponent, so she didn’t have anyone to punish. Contestants were no longer under her control, and that made her boiling mad. How dare they comply? How dare they not give her an outlet for her continuous rage!? She sat on her throne glaring at the enormous double doors leading to her chamber, wishing, hoping, yearning, for something to be angry at.  Suddenly, she was in luck because the massive doors then proceeded to explode. She smiled with twisted glee.  It was something worth being angry at, as it was a nice mahogany door. It took the sweat and labor of many citizens to raise up, and Odessa made sure they bled for dramatic effect. It was a monument along with the rest of the palace built on the suffering of the people.

In the doorway was a man clad in silver and gold armor.  Wild Edge had his claws out, and they were burning as he was glaring at Odessa, much to her bitter joy.  “Odessa!” he called out, “I demand you set Ro-Ro and Marko free! I know you hold their souls!”

Odessa’s face contorted into a sadistic smiled that Jason wished he hadn’t seen. She pointed to a guard in a red robe and a mask. “Entertain me.”

The man stepped forward and Wild Edge’s claws turned red with heat. This creature made him angry. He saw every mistake he ever made; every bad card life had ever dealt him, every single thing he hated in this person that he had never seen before. He held his rage back, though. He turned his gaze back to Odessa, “Not only that! I demand you give me the wisp of anger. I know you have it in your possession. Julie’s scan picked it up.”

Odessa shook her head, “I’m sorry, I don’t feel like giving you anything.”

Jason audibly growled. He was happy he had convinced Jeanette and Winston to wait by the Gypsy camp. He wasn’t sure who was going to take more from whom. Regardless, this was going to get very ugly. It seemed as though violence, unsurprisingly enough, was going to be the only option. Wild Edge flung a claw at the man, who simply allowed it to become stuck in his dark armor. He didn’t even move. The claws had struck deep, but the guard was unfazed.

Edge ripped into him, feeling his rage building and building. Every cut he delivered was healed. His claws were white hot, almost beginning to melt. He saw the face of madness in that mask, he saw the face of Marcus, the kid that picked on him since he was in kindergarten. He saw the face of Odessa.  He saw himself.

He pulled back and tried to calm down. This wasn’t him controlling his emotions; it was controlling him. The knight began to laugh at him. It was metallic and inhuman, but biting and painful. Jason shook his head. He was letting this supernatural presence get to him. Looking at his claws, he whispered, “Edge down.” The suit folded itself revealing the boy beneath. He held himself with a strange countenance. Bending over, he picked up a bolt from the door he had smashed. It was a nice big steel bolt, barely fitting in his hand with a comfortable weight. He walked passed the creature he still felt rage towards but, instead, he smiled.

He walked up to Odessa, closer that what she was comfortable with. No one had ever gotten this close to her. She stood up angry and Jason just looked at her, with a smile. It wasn’t a joyful sort of smile. It was an angry smile. She went to yell but Jason put a hand on her shoulder. No one had done that. It was forceful. He spoke in a commanding way, “Odessa. You are going to give me that wisp. I am not going to play any of your goddamned games. I am done playing.”

Odessa found her strength again. She tried brushed him off. “Honestly, you think you can command a Goddess? You think you can intimidate me?”

Jason gripped the bolt in his hand and it melted between his fingers lighting the carpet beneath him on fire. He was unfazed, “I said, I am done playing. Edge Up!” The suit found itself around its master. Before Odessa could even blink Wild Edge grabbed her arm and flung her across the room into the stone wall. He aimed himself at her, “Jump!” He turned himself into a living missile smashing into Odessa and punching the both of them through the wall.

Odessa pulled her knife out. It was to no avail as Jason grabbed the blade, and it melted away in his hands. The gold metal on his suit began to glow. He picked up Odessa and punched her into another wall over and over. “Give” Jason’s fist made a sickening thwap nose as it smashed into her nose“me” Again, his fist slammed into her face “the” His hand delivered another blow to her cheek “wisp!” Crunch. The wall gave way. He turned around and threw her body at the ground. The gold of his armor was on fire along with the very circuitry of the suit.

Julie tried to speak, “Jason, you’re doing more damage to yourself than her.”

This enraged Jason further. Odessa did not cave, but rather got up. “Go to hell. You may have won the round, but don’t be getting a big head. Chosen hero or not, you WILL not push me around!” She charged Jason and hit him with the full force of a rhino, pushing him back into the throne room.

The two grappled. Jason landed a punch. Odessa landed a kick. Wild Edge got in a few powerful jabs. The goddess tossed Jason across the room. Jason used his jump pack to hit back. He knocked the throne over and smashed the wall behind it. Inside, much to his surprise was the wisp. Odessa was stunned. He grabbed it as fast as he could and put it on his back. He had what he needed, and he got to punch the goddess a few times.  It was time to quit while he was ahead.

He walked out of the rubble and headed towards the door. His gold was no longer burning, but was still hot to the touch. He looked at the door and picked up another bolt. It would make a good souvenir. It nearly melted in his grasp and he focused hard on keeping the channeling field to hold it together till he could cool down.

“You’re no hero!” The words came from behind Jason. The goddess had gotten back up. The last hit had actually wounded her. She clutched her stomach as she sat her throne back up. She sat down and looked at her punctured lung. “You’re just a man. A human that has some power. But you are no damned hero of legend!” Jason’s gold began to pick up again but it died down. He was sick of her. She thought that she had the right to insult him, to Look down upon him from her throne even though he had just won?

Jason looked at the bolt as it began to turn black in his hand. He would show her. He would have vengeance for the innocent lives he had to claim in her love of carnage. He would destroy her in the easiest way possible. He walked back to her and spat words at her, “Say that again.”

“You’re no hero.”

”Edge down!” The suit responded grudgingly, “Again, but to my face!”

“You’re just a like any other monkey on earth. You think you have the right to do the right thing. You think you have control over your life. Tell me, did she scream when she fell in the lava? Did the two innocent lives you claim beg for mercy? Did your goodness save them? Or did you just kill two people? Like I said; you’re no hero. You’re just a pawn. I… control… you.”

Jason smiled and laughed. Each breath was twisted and bitter. “You get off on pain. Well, how about this? An offering to the goddess.” Jason tossed the bolt at her. He walked out of the building as she was warped towards the miniature black hole. The building began to collapse inward as Jason walked out. Stones flew from their ancient homes to meet the gravity magnet he had given to the goddess. The world ripped apart around Jason who walked through it. He was the source of the chaos here. He was at perfect calm. Stones, servants, maids, silverware, shields, armor. It was a maelstrom of castle that flew past Jason who walked calmly by. He got to the bridge in the front of the castle and walked across it was it fell apart. He got to the gypsy camp as people rushed to the castle, to either help their goddess, or to try to finish her off and claim the throne for themselves. Jason reached the Gypsy camp and calmed down. He smiled at Jeanette and passed out.

The most awesome thing to dramatically walk away from besides an explosion is apparently a black hole you created and left behind. Cool stuff!
