After participating in a drug trial (for a drug which was supposed to be nothing more than an antihistamine), Angeline unexpectedly became pregnant while on birth control (much to the surprise and dismay of her boyfriend), Turns out the drug was not just a powerful fertility drug, but also had other unexpected side-effects. After three hundred women became pregnant, the drug trial was halted. Many of of the women had a single baby, but over half became pregnant with multiples. Most had twins, but a third had triplets, and a handful became pregnant with quadruplets.

Angeline, for unexplained reasons, became pregnant with decuplets. Her belly swelled rapidly, appearing full-term at twelve weeks. The pharma which had sponsored the drug trial paid for her treatment to prevent premature birth, and a good deal extra on the condition that she would not pursue legal action against them. In the fifth month of pregnancy, her breasts began developing rapidly. She went from a C cup to a a J-cup in a matter of a few weeks. By the ninth month, even custom-made nursing bras whose size labels bore a string of "Zs" no longer fit. By the time she gave birth, she had gained almost three hundred pounds, and over a hundred of it was in her breasts.

At forty-one weeks, she went into labor. Sixteen hours later, she gave birth to seven boys and three girls, who ranged from seven to nine pounds. By the time she gave birth to the last of them, three hours later,, she had lost over a hundred pounds.

Before her belly even grew to fill her lap, her boyfriend had left her for a skinny biker girl. His loss, she thought bitterly, but she still knew her body would never return to her former curves. The pharma promised she would never want for anything, and that all her children would be taken care of. She made them put it in writing, then took the contract to a lawyer who doubled the amount they were committed to pay. They signed.

She moved into a 6,000 square foot house, hired staff, and started her new life with ten children. She never had to change a diaper, but she insisted on nursing them herself, because that was the only thing that slowed the growth of her breasts. It had only accelerated after the birth, to an alarming rate. The pharma had offered--insisted--that she get reduction surgery, but she refused. They tried to get a medical opinion to force her, but the doctor who examined her could not find a legitimate medical reason to do it. The pharma relented.

A year later, though, Angeline was having some doubts about whether she had made the right decision. If they kept growing like this, in another year or two she might definitely have to think about her options, if only to be able to continue walking.
