Description
VERY VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: For the actual quality of the image, please click on the download tab. DA compresses images too much, and I've tried everything to fix how it looks like here. So if you're gonna critique/comment on the artwork, please base it on the image in the download tab.I had to re-upload this multiple times, but if the quality is still horrible then I'll just email the copy to Peri or something, so she can see it properly. It's annoying--the quality was good on my computer, but upload it and it suddenly turns into a blob of blurs.
The piece depicts Grillby and the River Person as kids, since I accidentally made them shorter than expected lol. This is pretty much my first time actually drawing a whole scene from scratch--fire, water, wood-textured boat--and I'm not gonna lie, I'm glad with what I made.
As for my choice of characters--eh, Grillby and the River Person seemed pretty cool and fun to join up (y'know, water and fire hahaha). Plus Kid!Grillby without glasses is adorbs (well, as adorable as realistic fire can go XD).
Anyway, the contest is by MarshmallowPapyLove , and is right here .
The brushes I used are mostly by pixelstains , and the characters are in Undertale, but the art itself is by me.

I'm going to cry if I don't end up buying a decent one with pen pressures when I go to college ;;
I'm very determined to pursue an art-related carreer. Mostly in animation, but I wouldn't mind freelance digital paintings. (Have chu thought about what chu'd get?)
(I have sausage fingers DX)

Eh, mine's just a birthday gift, so it's hella cheap and bought online--but it has 1024 levels of pressure sensitivity, and it WAS ON SALE, so I took it. Hopefully it's good.
I'm actually not gonna pursue STEAM--I've seen the curriculum, and I'm honestly going to be more stressed out there (and I'm already stressed out in school XD). I'd grab HUMSS the moment we hit Grade 11. Shocked my mum and dad when they heard, but I just don't wanna be a doctor anymore--medical school's expensive af. As for the course I'd take in college...most likely creative writing, or freelance digital painting if I'm lucky lol.

Ah man, I really wanna buy one for my own birthday. It doesn't even have to be fancy. This iPad has helped me billions, but it's still pretty limited.
I was actually surprised when I saw animation was under IT and not other art-related courses.
Well, hope we can be in the same college together. Same classes are a stretch, but I'd also prefer that.
That won't be until three years later tho so heh. Got plenty of time.
I'm most likely going to take freelance jobs when I'm older either way. I'm already practicing digital painting, so far I'm decent at it. Haha. You can see the marks of a noob in it, though.

Eh, I don't think it needs to be fancy. The one I bought has pretty good comments on it, and it's probably a fourth of the price of a Wacom (but ofc Wacom's pretty much king of the field.)
Eh, I'm not surprised--most animation for websites are coded. But it does feel a bit off when you compare it to other arts courses.
Yeah, I hope we get into the same college--having HS friends in college helps transitioning a bit better.
Hahaha, yeah--freelance jobs are probably the way I'll go too, since I'm not really a fan of going to a certain workplace everyday. As for your marks of noob--where man? XD

Mind noting me what you got and from where? I might be able to talk my grandma into buying one for me ~w~ I'd love to finally be able to work on Sai again.
(Also, are you sure ? Lmao but Wacom is the most popular and probably the most advanced (?) in the field.)
Yeah. There'll be a lot of technical stuff in there, I bet. And I'll be needing to learn how to use software, too.
Whoo boy. College. I hope I'm more organized by then haha
I'll probably have it as a side job at least--art commissions save a lot of people's asses when they have financial problems. Speaking of which, I'm getting Paypal soon. (Note: "Soon" is subjective lmao) Then hopefully I can start taking cash comms. (It's funny how I'm mostly doing it for college funds. Well, one can never be too prepared)

(oh yeah Huion--I saw a model of it too, and it looks pretty good--my pocket, not so much XD)

I'm not sure--it changes pretty arbitrarily, but I think it's safe to assume that it'll last until end of July or so?? Even if it does end, a new sale will probs take place. That place almost never sells stuff at 100% XD
But yeah, mine will be shipped on July 1, so I'll have to deal with my crummy tablet w/o pressure sensitivity so I can draw a birthday drawing for my sis.
