Description Weapon design commission for a Modern/Future d20 setting. It has a great "Gamma World" flavor (for those of you who have any idea what that is...).

A mare's leg, a whippet, a hammerless hogleg, and a rabbit-ear hogleg.

Are those actual terms for these short-cuts?! I had no idea those even existed...sweet...

"Hogleg" can also refer to a large-frame revolver, but I've heard it used to describe a sawed-off double-barrel sans stock. "Whippet gun" comes from a chopped-down Remington 11 used by Bonnie Parker, but the configuration was used by both sides of the law (most were pump-action). "Rabbit-ear" is American slang for dual hammers on a side-by-side. And I'm pretty sure the term "ghetto blaster" is a general term for any sawed-off shotgun.

Sorry it took over half a decade to get back to you on that.

Is the gun at the top a Winchester 1887?

Yup, it sure is! I used the model from T2 for the locations of where the gun was "sawed-off". It's a beautiful weapon in it's "whole" state as well...

Sorry, the guy who commissioned them owns the images. You can use them, but personal use only, no publishing (print, web, whatever).

What about a Semi-auto, that could work nicely as a sawed-off. :j

MunkenDronkey In reply to The-S-H-A-D-O-W [2011-06-24 17:12:15 +0000 UTC]

If I remember correctly, I based it on the "Stoeger's Coach Gun" that Mel Gibson carries in the Mad Max movies...

Hey, what about a sawed-off autoloader, and an over-under double-barelled, and maybe a single-barrelled?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MunkenDronkey In reply to GangsterLovin [2012-01-09 21:30:59 +0000 UTC]

Those all could work. Browning makes a cool semi-auto that might look cool. I'll have to do some research, but thanks for the suggestion.

Haha, yeah my pleasure! Geez, that suggestion is almost 5 years old, though.X'D Seriously though, thanks for getting back to me, a sawed-off Browning A-5 would look awesome.

Yeah, digging through the old "favorites" stack and getting some responses out. It's been a while...

I understand, heh. Actually, getting this kind of response sorta brings back memories, that's cool.
