A little comic I did for my wife for Christmas.Β Our son Max is autistic, and can only say a few words. That doesnβt stop him from trying to communicate with us through his laughing, his crying, and his awesome hugs!Related content

I'm autistic too. I can speak, but this is so touching! I have an autistic friend who also looks a lot like Max! It's so sweet I'm gonna cry! I love it!

Just recently had a chance to work with a young teen who is autistic, they were warning me he wouldn't talk unless he got to know me better. By the end of 3 hours he started talking a little bit, was amazing to see.. Before reading your description, knew what the comic had meant, This is just wonderful, brought a smile out... also something else to note is, someone just told me that some autistic people have a different way of thinking... they were telling me they have difficulty filtering what most people have no problem doing, they take in every detail of a room and can question certain details of the room while most of us could care less and can go on with our routines...While they are focusing on so much detail, they have trouble filtering it all out when trying communicate with us. I might of totally misunderstood what this person was telling me but that's how I took it. Either way to me, Β it was just a really interesting way of thinking.. And people wonder why they've changed the word "Disabled" to the word "special needs". What's even more interesting to me is my curiosity of what they think about. Sometimes I feel like they see something that we don't..not literally but more like they understand something that most of us don't.. done my lovely rant

i know my nephew is abitΒ autistic Β but since there were alot of us around him to talk to him he is able not only speak english but he also learned to speak spanish too so he could communicate with his g-ma (my mum) Β his g-dad ( my dad) , me, his aunt (my sister) and his mother (my sister). everyone but my mother speaks english he's slowly getting use to switching between both Β but we know he has greatΒ potential.
Β just like your son he will have great potential to learn things other kids might or wont understand but he will your kid will grow up to be a fine adult with a great family by his side (like you and your wife)
