Description

This is a scene in my comic, Stars And Dust. It's been playing in my head for a good long time, and I had sketched it out a while ago. With recent events, I revisited this because it mirrored a lot of what I've been feeling lately. So please forgive the...sketch-like, maybe even the rushed appearance. This is just a sketch I did that I cleaned up a little, then colored roughly. I feel bad for using a lot of tools/brushes I normally don't use, because I like to hand draw everything, but I was in no mood to spend 12 hours on leaves.

Not too sure if I care to explain everything happening here. I mean...I could, but it would be a brick, and I don't really think too many people are interested in reading a mountain of text. They just want to see pretty pictures. But I'm happy to explain if people really are interested.
No worries, these events actually happen in chapter 11 or 12 (depends on how I cut a few previous chapters). Which I guess is a while for everyone because well...I'm still getting the Prologue lined! (My gosh it's looking flipping beautiful too, y'all!) But with any luck, and maybe some serious discipline, I'll have both the Prologue and Chapter 1 to really show off by the end of summer.
Honestly I think the slowness stems from inexperience. I am honestly working every day, but it's kinda the first comic I've taken super seriously. I've done little strips in the past for fun and for friends, but nothing of this magnitude. (And holy shit am I sick of drawing backgrounds and freaking computers and busted screens. Thank heavens for the ruler tool, but still!)

Hmm...I more or less wanna draw how she got those fun cuts on her face... >.> I know this is getting long but whatever. The best part about working on SAD is that I see the whole thing play out like a movie in my head. I freaking love that whole sequence because it shows just how brutal the bad-guys are, and amazing hostile wildlife. And really...I'm stoked to draw the end of that chapter because it's just maybe the most beautiful thing I've ever crafted in my head. So far.

And for those following me, I'm posting sketches/drawings every Monday or Sunday (I'm trying to figure out which is better for me since Fridays are sorta just bad days for me in general). I'm going to start slowly pulling back the blinds on this story and post (at least) the Prologue here...soon. 2017 for sure. Unless I die.
