Description "...and in the spring of the year, when the time of the Erukyermĕ was come, they ascended in the retinue of the King to the summit of the Meneltarma, which was the Hallowed Mountain of the Nŭmenŏreans.16 When all had gone down again Aldarion and Erendis remained behind; and they looked out, seeing all the Isle of Westernesse laid green beneath them in thespring, and they saw the glimmer of light in the West where far away was Avallŏnĕ, and the shadows in the East upon the Great Sea; and the Menel was blue above them. They did not speak, for no one, save only the King, spoke upon the height of Meneltarma; but as they came down Erendis stood a moment, looking towards Emeriĕ, and beyond, towards the woods of her home." Excellent work! I love the detail of the forests of Numenor. There's just one thing, at that distance both the land of Numenor and Avallone would be tinged blue. Just my advice, though, but that would be hard with colored pencil, which is what you used here, right? I also love the touch of the Silmaril up above.

More Erendis! This is such a nice moment between the couple, it's sad to know what happens to them... Love how you did the light coming from the tower in Avallone.

Thank you for this heartfelt comment! I have one more unfinished drawing of Erendis I've begun in April and still haven't coloured...Hope I'll finish it someday.

Thank you a lot. There are such moments in Tolkien's books - they are full of meaning and emotion, but nothing is "happening", actually. I've always been fascinated with them. And with colors, too, because they always are a part of the scene when I imagine it...

Something woth seeing ... (not the Outer Void and Morgoth bound in it, I hope! ) After all the Second Children of Iluvatar had their special destiny, and maybe their stay in Mandos prepared them for it...

I think the creation of such "special civilsation" as Numenor so close to Valinor was a mistake. It shows that the Valar have never fully understood the nature of Men, even the Edain, as a race not bound to Arda, and ever seeking beyond...

Its absolutely beautiful. I've always liked landscapes and broad views.

I love how one can see Avallone in the distance-so close and yet so far away.
Think about it, before the changing of the world, this was as far westward
as humans were allowed to go.

If I was a Numenorean back then I would cry every time I saw it, because
I would want so badly to go there and yet I would know that I couldn't.
It would be like a starving person seeing a banquet but not able to reach it.
I wouldn't care about living forever but I would love to go just to visit,
see its beauty and talk to the Valar. Maybe removing Valinor from Arda
wasn't so much a punishment but actually a mercy.

You've shown how far west living humans were allowed to go. Maybe you
should show how far elves and Valar are allowed to go. Remember, Elves
and the Valar were bound to Arda, but humans only stayed for a brief time.
When they died they would go to Mandos Halls for a brief time than
would leave Arda alltogether.

In fact the Halls of Mandos were on the westernmost end of Valinor
and of Arda. Beyond them lay the encircling sea and beyond that....

That would be something to see!

... and beyond that the Outer Void and Morgoth chained in it

Though I don't think Men had anything to do with him after they left the Halls of Mandos - because their destiny was beyond the limits of Arda and completely different from that of any beings bound to this world.

In Meneltarma men were seeing the limits of Middle Earth, beyond which men can't go.
We should also see the limits of Arda, beyond which elves can't go

That's what I meant. You ought to perhaps someday draw a picture of Beyond the Limits of Arda.
