Adorable cat! The main part of this photo that works well is the focus on the cat's eye, and the lighting. Although the lighting doesn't expose that cat's whole face, it is nice and natural and the half-half look makes a more dramatic statement. Also, it's great that there is not a lot of clutter in the shot so the viewer sees more of the subject.

With that being said, there is not much of a wow factor in this photo for me. The angle doesn't say a lot about the subject, and looking down doesn't add much. Since the lighting is so interesting, I would have loved to see more focus on the face overall, and this could have been done great with the clear background.
