Description
“NYNX!! WAKE UPP!!!” Was the first thing I heard. Three girls above my head, screaming at me to wake up.“It’s 6:30 in the morning… Couldn’t you wait an hour more…” I grumbled, sitting up in my bed, rubbing my tired eyes.
“NO!” Avery argued. She held a large box, covered in wrapping paper.
“Hand over the box, child.” I mumbled, looking straight at Avery who handed it over. “So… you come over this earlier to give me my present… nice…” I started tearing off the paper, only to find just a plain box. Grabbing a pair of scissors from a shelf above myself, opening the box. Through probably about a few jars full of packing peanuts, I pulled out a slick electric guitar.
“We thought… you might like trying some instrument out… This was the best we could get…” Carissa mumbled.
I didn’t say anything, merely turning the slick and shiny jet guitar about.
“Well… Do you like it?” The three girls in front of me said in unison. They all looked at me with dying and anxious eyes.
Once again, keeping my silence, I put the instrument in position, playing a short but energetic cord.
“Nynx, you’re scaring us…” Avery mumbled.
“Children, of course I like it!” I broke my silence, setting the guitar on the bed.
Ember broke in, saying “I didn’t know you played guitar…”
“I did actually… grandparents taught me.” I answered blankly, looking at them as if they should’ve known.
The three looked at each other for a moment. Suddenly, Avery and Carissa grabbed me by the forearms, pulling me up and out of bed. “Get dressed Nynx. You’ve got a big day today.” They said before running out of the room and waited for me outside the door.
Reluctantly, I changed into my regular outfit. Kicking open the door as I was slipping my black jacket on.
“Let’s go!” Ember exclaimed cheerfully, grabbing me and running out of my apartment.
“Wait! Where are we going?!”
No reply. My friends had me thrown into the back of a car. Ember sat in the front seat, in the driver seat, was Ember’s brother.
“Where to ladies?” He asked coolly, leaning back into the seat.
Ember leaned over and whispered to him, with a nod afterwards. In seconds, the vehicle was on the road.
“May I ask where are you taking me?” I asked in a demanding sort of tone.
“You’ll see. Just wait, okay?” Carissa replied.
“Oh fine…” I groaned and leaned back into the seat.
The car soon enough pulled up to a small building.
“So, what’s this place?” I asked in question, looking at the lights about the front as we got out of the car.
Ember merely responded with a smirk as she grabbed my wrist and dragged me in.
Tables scattered about, making me think we had just entered a cafe. That is until I realized the stage up front.
“Wait… don’t tell me this is a karaoke cafe?” I asked wide eyed. My friends shrugged with a smug smile upon their faces. I smirked in reply.
The four of us got our order as we watched different people walk up on stage. It didn’t take long until they pushed me to go up.
What was to happen once I got up on that stage, I didn’t see coming. I felt a little nervous, singing for the first time in front of a crowd. I nodded to the DJ after grabbing the microphone. The intro to the song I had chosen started playing, but once I looked by my friends, I saw someone in the back with my bag. And my gun in their hand. Pointed straight at me.
Before I could think, all I heard was the click click boom, followed by screaming before my body hit the ground.
