Standing at the traffic lights,Waiting for a sign -
She is waiting at the edge of night,
The girl whose heart was mine.
The crush of bodies press around,
Their faces featureless.
Lost amid the chaos of sound,
My words of love regress.
She leans against another man
Whose face I cannot see.
On my shoulders, ticking sand
Has forced me to my knees.
I struggle vainly through the crowd,
When I look for her, she is gone.
Searching for that which cannot be found,
Still I struggle on.

You're welcome! Yeah, I know that feeling. Sometimes when I'm feeling strong, I go back and look at the love poems I wrote for my ex and it's like my chest constricts...it's difficult to remember that I did feel that way about him once upon a time.
