Polnaref almost couldn't believe it. He had done it. He had avenged his sister. It had been so harrowing with Vanessa there but it was because of her that he was able to get the upper hand against Centerfold. The bastard. Polnaref felt a drop of water on his head. It was raining - in the desert. How odd. But it felt cathartic. Like a great weight was being lifted and washed away. Dear Sherry could finally rest in peace. But his revelry was cut short as Vanessa approached him. He gasped seeing her face - what had Centerfold done to her!? Half her face was sagging and wrinkled as if she was aging rapidly.

It was then Polnaref remembered her ancient curse. Her reflection aging her decades with just a single glance. Her raven hair streaked white. She was holding her throat as she attempted to call out to him. No no no no no no. Polnaref rushed to her when she stumbled. She collaspsed and he caught her - keeping her from hitting the wet ground. He didn't know what to do. What could he do? He couldn't think. The sight of her making his thoughts race and flee from his head. He started crying - He couldn't lose her. Not now that they had finally gotten a victory. She seemed oddly calm as tears flowed down his face. Polnaref held her close - trying to shield her from the water - worried that the freezing rain could make it worse somehow. Despite her weakened state she managed to raise her hand to his cheek. Stroking his face reassuringly. Saying with a gesture what she couldn't voice in the moment. He felt it but he couldn't stop his rush of emotions. But he knew...

She was going to be okay.

Another commission for bbb35 of their OC Vanessa and Polnaref from JJBA part 3. There's an entire story behind this compelling scene which was so interesting to do. Seeing her reflection activates a curse that ages her (she's an immortal) - or returns age to her. Depending on his long she sees herself the more severe the aging BUT she does heal from it after looking away - it just takes a minute or two

I so rarely do pics with rain... or any weather other than sunshine. This was fun to do! I will be doing more rain scenes and other weather in the near future.
