Personality: She is fairly reserved and lives a quiet if not shy existence.She doesn't tend to act or speak out unless absolutely necessary.She is not necessarily shy though, she is relatively unabashed in public. She may be considered boring to an extrovert, but if they were to quiet down, she might actually open up a bit about herself. It's not to say she is completely anti social, she just prefers to listen than talk. She is a reliable student and friend and she's not easily swayed by bribes. She has a highly honor bound person ad doesn't like too may breaks in what is traditional. She is accepting on changing what is absurd, however. Her times of frustrations usually happen right after english class where she tends to be the most heard. She is rather sensitive on the subject of her parents and she'd rather not speak about it, further prodding usually causes her to ignore the person who is harassing her. Any gossip or rumors people make about her just rolls off her shoulders, she doesn't care much for people's opinions since she knows that only she knows the truth about herself. She does however care about what people think of her personnally though, as in the people she is closest to.

History: Her family come from a line of Healers and clairvoyants (Rumored t have come from a blessing) in a small traditional village in China, though their powers had been dwindling with each generation. It was to the point where her parents had no ability or belief in their craft anymore. Meilin had only lived there when she was still a youg child. Her grandmother had insisted her parents had her train her magical abilities with her, they humored her while their daughter was still young, however, no matter how much she had practiced, her abilities had remained non existant, all it managed to do was what they thought were epileptic seizures. Her parents eventualy gave up, there was no such thing as witches anymore anyway and they were somewhat poor, They lived a minimal and humble existance.Her parents wanted her to have a more normal upbringing and they also wanted to have access to better health care for their daughter, so they moved to Canada where she went to school with ordinary people. Meilin had nearly forgotten about her heritage, her parents didn't make the effort to necessarily preserve it and her "Epilepsy" got better. Her abilities finally emerged when she had a dream of her parents suddenly being killed in a horrible accident. At first these dreams had started blurry but every night it became clearer and clearer. It was when her parents had announced that they were going to the next town over that Meilin had been suddenly afraid. She tried everything in her power to prevent them from leaving, but her parents ignored her pleas. They never had the chance to come back.She lived with her neighbor who had been kind enough to take care of her till her Grandmother had managed to transfer her to the Monstrum academy. Her abilities are still only blooming, though with a bit of tutoring from her grandmother, she is able to use basic spells and she is now aware of her family history and her own duty towards her family. Now she had the intention on developping her abilities to the fullest extent and hopefully restore the blessing which gave her family their lost power.
