Sometimes I just have to call it done and move onto something else. I agonized over this one way too long and it started feeling forced.

Yeh, at that point you're not doing yourself any favors. There was a friend of mine that said drawing something 100 times is more educational than trying to make one perfect piece.
Gotta have fun and get lost in pieces sometimes though!

You're right. It may not be my favorite piece, but this painting definitely helped me get a better understanding of lighting, composition, and color among other things. Thankfully my next couple of pieces flowed much easier
