Description
I know that Roscoe and Desoto could never have known Buster because Oliver & Company takes place several decades after Lady & the Tramp, but I had always wanted to see them together anyway.Here, we have Roscoe talking down to Buster because he's not quite the AKC standard of perfection when it comes to dobermans; Buster is getting more agitated by the minute at Roscoe's insinuations, and Desoto stands just behind Buster, snarling and ready to attack as usual.
My first attempt drawing any of these characters.
Done with sharpies and colored pencils.

According to the Audio Commentary, he was supposed to be a cross between a Doberman and a Rottweiler.

It depends on the TV. On my TV, he was very dark brown.

Buster's a Rottie. If you watch the ending (after the end credits) of Lady and the Tramp II, one of the writers says "Buster's a Rottweiler who constantly bosses Scamp around" or something along the lines of that.

Someone else told me the writers said Buster is a doberman/rottie mix. I don't have the DVD, I just taped the movie from ToonDisney

I always thought it'd be cool if Buster was going to be one of Sykes' watch dogs, but because Buster is from a backyard breeder and he doesn't have AKC papers (plus he's part Rottie), Sykes chooses Roscoe and Desoto instead. I can see Roscoe making fun of Buster for not being good enough to be a watch dog and being a mutt with no papers XD
