This video is the result of a frantic weekend (or more like one really long day) of work. During the course of applying for a job as a Media Developer, it turned out that my Flash portfolio was lacking an example of straightforward animation. I had shown that I could do ActionScript coding, they just wanted to make sure I could make some keyframes to go along with it. So I put this together with the goal of illustrating the process that goes into assembling a single image. The picture in question is a generic background image from a cartoon series I might never get around to making, but it at least provides me interesting projects such as this. The finished video has more than 1600 individual keyframes, not counting the preloader. Frame-by-frame is much more tedious than just tweening a motion, but I think the results were well worth it. I am really happy with this as a quick portfolio piece, and it may have helped me earn a full-time position doing digital media.
