Never again! Never again! Two weeks in Moscow, -35C, four root canals, two crowns, first solo exhibition and a heartbreaking farewell at the airport.I'm now back to comatose sunny LA. Homesick and jetlagged.

I do have to say this is one of the most ORIGINAL photos I have seen in a LONG time. Espcially on here when its so easy to point and click without so much as a twitch. Good job!
The Good:The composistion keeps the viwer on the shot while the subject matter is something totally new. Not macobie/horror crap nor depressive but holds a tension all its own thusly attracting its audience even closer.
Now for the Nitch:Not sure if the blood is PSH'ed on or not. To pull the viewers in even more, possibly edit the eyes to give them more of a reflective quality and sharpen the clarity of them "ex make them slightly more vivid". But thats what tickels me. n_n'

I don't know what it about this picture that makes me like it so much. But I really like it; it really reminds me of some of the striking images that just stick out at you at art galleries or on the covers of those national geographic magazines. (I mean this in a good way, I hope you're not offended.) An image like this deserves a better comment than I have to offer, by far. I love how you have the reflection, it adds depth to the image in my opinion. Everything about this images makes you interested in the story behind it.
Oh god, that sounded so cheesy.
Anyhow, wonderful image. I believe I will be favoriting this now.

the USSR doesn't exist anymore. perhaps you should make references to the post soviet hardline "democracy" rather than inferring that is still the hardline left, which it isn't.
the picture holds little or no artistic value aside from shock, which it doesn't do particularly well, or with any relevance to subject matter. over filtered and edited, too much blood and posing to relate any experience or feeling gained from travelling to the country, i really don't see what the fuss is about.

the reflection in your eyes... a split second of realization that in the midst of pain two shadows of unknown people may perhaps lend hand and dispel the torment you felt.. amazing shot... so full of a profound moment of clarity amongst dreadful memory.

this is gonna sound really weird.. but i can taste the blood. this shot is creepy, and freaky and plain scary, but it's also beautiful and intense. great job on the DD!!! this deserves it.
