So about 2 years ago, I had one of those fake rings that you usually use to mess around with whatever piercing you wanted and would of course see what it'd look like visually, well one day I stuck it up my nose and I found out that I liked it...very much.
I was so set on getting this thing but then when I went to school, I had seen that there was a girl who got it done, and it was pierced very low and then I was thought, "Well maybe I should think this through more"
WELL at the end of the school year this last May she revealed to me that she was the one who pierced it, by herself, and pierced the cartilage which why it was so low, so after extensive research, on things like the "sweet spot", "healing", "origins", and what not, I decided once again that I wanted this thing.
So today, well at 9 last night I got this Septum done and I am so VERY happy with it. I love it.
NOW, I know some think that people who have these look like "bulls", but when I first saw the septum on someone, it was a young girl and she looked otherworldy to me, she had a gold septum with designs, complimented by her long flowing gown and dreadlocks. The piercing was just deemed beautiful by me from then on,
there was even a man who told me that, "If you get this then there will be men who will think you're beautiful but when they see this, they'll mark you right off their list"
which made me so angry, due to the fact that 1.) if someone doesn't like me for me and what I choose to do, then obviously that person isn't meant for me and 2.) because he was an older very conservative man who felt as if women should live by the standards men wanted them to be, and it wasn't so much that I didn't respect his opinion but it was sad to think that some women are still trapped under the stereotype that women should live by what men want them to do.
BUT ANYWAYS, to anyone reading this who feels set back because they are scared of what people think, don't think about them, think about yourself, because at the end of the night, you're the one going to sleep in your skin and you should feel comfortable with whatever you want or dream of doing with your own mind, body, and soul. Do you, boo boo.
