He had known. That her end was near. He could see it, feel it, though he wished he couldn't. Meaningful glances exchanged with Civa, a fellow healer, every time they brought more herbs to ease her pain, every time they heard a cough, every time they saw the grimaces of pain she tried to hide.

They had known, both of them. It hadn't made this any easier.

The kids, on the other paw, had been left unaware. Or, well, not really -- Hakan had a feeling they all had known. They had just been... in denial. Nimat, Evar'la and Aylin were spending their time away from the den, while Esmeray and Elvan stuck close to their mother's side, though they too, acted ignorant. As if this was just another ail that'd eventually pass.

Hakan had seen the worry in their eyes. But he knew he was powerless to ease their pain.
Just like he had been powerless to prevent Saviin'ka's death.

Just like he was powerless now.

A very lovely and very sAD collab with the rest of the Savant fam + Civa!! Couldn't leave Sav's oldest child out obvs.
This was meant to be set shortly after her passing, but it could honestly be set months later when the family is still mourning.
