Well, there's a distinct difference in having a problem with a country and having a problem with an entire religion or race.
I'd use my dislike of the French as an example. I don't dislike the French as individuals, I dislike their policies as a country. Therein lies the difference.

True. I did heavily generalize, didn't I? And in many ways Iran is different than Germany. While much of Germany supported what they were doing, many of the younger Iranians are becoming tired of their nation's control. Even converting from Islam is a crime in Iran. Listening to western music and watching western movies are also crimes. Not to mention that women have next to no rights.
But there's a higher power in Iran than Ahmadinejad. He's called the Ayatollah. He wields supreme religious and political power. But he prefers being in the background. Ahmadinejad likes attention much more than the Ayatollah. He loves speaking to crowds and cameras. He is, in essence, the public face of the Ayatollah.
But I agree with you, the problem is the leadership, not the nation itself. Once Sharia Law is abolished in Iran, things could get a lot better, especially for women.

I'm no liberal, and I don't think that the concept of "human rights" can be given any such title.
But I do think it would be best just to leave Iran alone. Let them stir in what they've created. Each time their leaders open their mouths, they get into even more trouble. Someone is going to eventually decide to shut their mouths.

But really the main point is that it's about how no matter what opposition we were against, we prevailed. We pushed the British back and won independence for ourselves. It's a song of hope, not just war.
